Windbreaks and tree rows

Many East Wenatchee properties still have rows of Lombardy poplar or Siberian elm that were planted as windbreaks decades ago. Lombardy poplars are short-lived and prone to decay and breakage as they age, and Siberian elms drop brittle limbs. Taking out a full row is usually more efficient as one job than one tree at a time, and we'll quote it that way. Standard cleanup means brush is chipped on site and logs are stacked in lengths of 14 feet or less. We can also cut 16-inch firewood rounds or haul everything away. Stump grinding is a separate service we can add to your estimate.

Wind exposure on the east side

Homes on the open benches and slopes of East Wenatchee often catch more wind than sheltered yards across the river. A tree that's tall, top-heavy, or partly decayed is more likely to fail when the wind picks up. If you're unsure about a tree, an ISA Certified Arborist can evaluate it and tell you whether pruning, monitoring, or removal makes sense.

Riverfront cottonwoods

Cottonwoods along the Columbia grow big quickly, and their weak wood tends to drop heavy limbs. Work close to the river can trigger shoreline review, so we'll flag that during the estimate before anything gets cut.

Pruning and everyday tree care

Not every tree needs to come down. We lift limbs off roofs and fences, clear driveways and sidewalks, remove deadwood, and shape ornamental trees that have outgrown their space. We never use climbing spurs on trees we prune and leave in place; spurs wound the tree and invite disease and insects.

Power lines on the east side

We work near power lines but never contact or work on energized lines. In East Wenatchee, that's Douglas County PUD's responsibility. If a tree is in the lines, we'll tell you up front and coordinate before we start. We also handle the 811 locate before stump grinding.

What to expect

Call or request an estimate online. We'll meet you at the property or visit on our own, then send a written estimate before any work begins. During peak season (late spring through early fall) we're typically booked 6–8 weeks out; hazard trees and emergencies move faster.
