Job Summary:
At Clifton Tree Service, our Grounds Crew is the heartbeat of every project. You’ll be working side by side with our climbers and crew leads, helping keep trees, properties, and our mountain community safe and beautiful. This is a role for someone who loves being outdoors, thrives on teamwork, and wants to build a career in arboriculture. Accuracy, reliability, and a safety-first mindset matter, but so does your attitude. We’re looking for motivated, upbeat people who want to learn and grow in the industry.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Driving trucks with trailers and making sure equipment is safe and ready each day.
Using chainsaws, handsaws, clippers, and ropes to help shape, prune, and remove trees. - Hoisting tools to climbers and helping rig and lower branches safely.
- Running our chippers and loaders to clear debris and keep job sites spotless.
- Directing traffic when needed to keep our worksites safe.
- Pitching in on stump grinding, Firewise cleanups, and whatever the day calls for.
- Most importantly, keeping the job site safe, professional, and cleaner than we found it.
What Makes This Role Awesome:
- You get to spend your days outside in the Leavenworth area, surrounded by mountains and forests. Every day is different — one day pruning a maple in town, the next clearing hazard trees near a cabin.
- We provide training, gear, and a clear path to grow into climbing, leadership, or specialized certifications.
- You will be part of a fun, hard-working team that has each other’s backs.
- You will learn to run serious equipment and develop skills that translate into a career, not just a job.
What We’re Looking For:
- A valid WA driver’s license and clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR certified (or willing to get certified with our help).
- Ability to lift and move 75+ lbs, work on uneven ground, and stay safe in all kinds of weather.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Previous tree care experience is great, but not required — we’ll train the right person.
Safety First, Always:
We follow ANSI, OSHA, and TCIA safety standards, and provide all the PPE and training you need. Weekly safety meetings keep everyone sharp, and we expect every crew member to look out for themselves and their teammates.
Why Join Clifton Tree Service?

We’ll invest in your growth, give you real responsibility, and provide steady, year-round work (tree care in the warm months and snow removal in the winter). Most importantly, as our company continues to grow, you’ll have the chance to grow right along with it — moving into climbing, leadership, or even management roles if that’s where you want to take your career.
If you want a job that challenges you, builds your skills, and keeps you outside in the fresh mountain air — this is it. Come join our crew!
Job Summary:
At Clifton Tree Service, our Arborist Climbers are the backbone of technical tree work. You’ll be the one skillfully ascending and descending trees, running advanced equipment, and leading crews on projects that keep our mountain community safe and beautiful. This is a position for someone who thrives on challenge, loves working outdoors, and takes pride in their craft. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, crew leads, and the office to ensure every job is safe, professional, and top-notch.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Climbing trees using modern techniques and equipment (DdRT/SRT, aerial lift, bucket truck, or ladders).
- Safely pruning, removing, and shaping trees to industry standards.
- Leading a crew to complete projects as outlined in work orders — from start to final cleanup.
- Running equipment like aerial lifts, skid steers, stump grinders, loaders, and chippers.
- Communicating clearly with clients before, during, and after projects (in person or via text/photos).
- Inspecting trees for health issues, pests, or hazards.
- Keeping tools sharp, equipment ready, and job sites cleaner than we found them.
- Supporting teammates, mentoring apprentices, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with our grounds crew.
- Upholding ANSI, OSHA, and TCIA safety standards at all times.
Why This Role Rocks:
- You’ll work in some of the most scenic landscapes in Washington, climbing among Ponderosa pines, Douglas firs, and maples with mountain views all around.
- Every day is different — from pruning backyard maples to technical removals near homes, cabins, or power lines.
- You’ll run professional-grade gear and equipment, and keep learning advanced climbing and rigging techniques.
- You’ll step into a leadership role — directing crew members and taking ownership of project success.
- You’ll have a clear growth path: whether you want to sharpen your climbing, move toward Crew Lead, or pursue ISA/TCIA certifications, we’ll invest in your future.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1–2 years of climbing experience (DdRT/SRT techniques preferred).
- ISA Certified Arborist is a plus, but not required.
- Valid WA driver’s license and clean driving record.
- CPR certified (or willing to obtain).
- Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs, work at heights, and adapt to varying outdoor conditions.
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and client communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and professionalism on every job.
